The Big Texan Adventure features stays to Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Each city has its own identity, so we will make sure you have time to explore and see the best attractions. You’ll enjoy a combination of music, history & fun on Travelling Time’s Big Texan Adventure!

Welcome to The Big Texan Adventure. First stop - Grapevine Texas! Positioned mid-way between Dallas and Fort Worth - Grapevine makes a great central base for our first few nights. Once you have checked in to the hotel take some time to relax and refresh. Then feel free to join your fellow travellers, guide & driver for an informal welcome meeting.
After breakfast, we will travel to Southfork Ranch, home of TV's favourite Oil Family, The Ewings! Following our tour we will head into the city and pay a visit to the Dealey Plaza National Historic Landmark District. This includes a tour of the former Texas School Book Depository, now the 6th Floor Museum. These two of the locations will be forever associated with the assassination of John F. Kennedy. This evening we will take you to Billy Bob's Texas - the worldās largest honky-tonk!
After breakfast today, we will make the short journey to ithe world famous Fort Worth Stockyards. As well as seeing a cattle drive, there are a number of western wear shops, cafes, bars and even a casino to visit. You could even enjoy a meal at the famous Cattlemenās Steakhouse. Today is all about spending your free time exploring the Stockyards before heading off to Sundance Square for some R&R! This evening, we will visit the historic downtown of Grapevine, where live music and great food are on tap!
As we wave goodbye to Dallas, we'll make our way to Austin, stopping on the way in Waco, Texas - home of the Texas Ranger Museum. Austin is not just the capital of Texas, but also home to some of the largest music events and festivals in the world. These festivals include South by Southwest, Austin City Limits, The Urban Music Festival, and the Pecan Street Festival. So, if you ever wondered why Austin is known as the Live Music Capital - it's because Austin has more music venues per capita than anywhere else in the United States. After a city tour, you can spend the rest of your time here listening to everything from blues to rock, country to jazz and more. With Austin having nearly 250 live music venues you can catch a show any time on any day.
Today you will have more free time to discover what and who made Austin famous... In American music history, Austin has helped start or grow the careers of big-time artists like Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Willie Nelson. A stroll on 6th Street can turn up music in some unexpected places - so keep your eyes open! Threadgills and Stubb's BBQ are highly recommended for great food and fantastic music. Tonight we will take you to the world famous Broken Spoke!
After a leisurely breakfast we will travel to San Antonio and visit the famous Alamo! Learn about the history of the Alamo, its valiant defenders and why, as the saying goes, āWhoever controls the Alamo controls San Antonio and whoever controls San Antonio controls Texas!ā It is also said that the Alamo's history is a "story bigger than Texas." Our San Antonio adventure will continue with a trip along the beautiful River Walk followed by free time to enjoy this wonderful city. This evening you will be free to explore the wonderful nightlife found in the Downtown area or perhaps enjoy a meal on the Riverwalk!
This morning we will travel Houston Texas to pay a visit to NASAās Johnson Space Center. During your tour of the Center, you'll enjoy many wonderful experiences and shows. The Center features more than 400 space artefacts and fantastic permanent and travelling exhibits. Exploring theĀ remarkable past and exciting future of Americaās human space-flight program. This is a visit you will definitely not want to miss. After a relaxing couple of hours at our hotel, we will head out for the evening to enjoy a farewell group dinner. Great food, great music and great memories made with friends old and new. The perfect ending to a The Big Texan Adventure.
Following a leisurely breakfast, The Big Texan Adventure sadly comes to an end! It is time to to wave goodbye to Houston as we travel to the airport for your journey homeā¦ or, perhaps, some of you will be extending your tour with us on Travelling Timeās āBoogie Busā to New Orleans Louisiana. Next stop -The Big Easy!
